Hello, World (and Why Wine Is for Everyone)

Hello, World (and Why Wine Is for Everyone)

Here we are. Post number one. The big debut. The start of whatever Bruno becomes. You could call this a “hello world” moment—if the world we’re saying hello to wasn’t so damn complicated.

Because, let’s face it: wine is intimidating.

For me, it started with necessity. Three years of keto wrecked my body, left me with a gluten intolerance, and made beer a relic of my past. I didn’t come to wine out of love. It always scared the shit out of me. Other foodie vices are easy to pick up - the best cigars are made in basically one country; the same goes for Bourbon or Tequila. But wine? Wine is endless. You'll never know everything. You'll always be pwned by some more obsessive (pretentious?) person. And yet.

The more I tested the waters, the more wine felt like a mystery I wanted to solve. That’s how I found myself drinking with Chris, a friend and wine collector who knows more about good juice than I probably ever will. Every glass with him felt like an exam I wasn’t prepared for. He’d pour something special, say “This is from the Rhône,” and then wait. I’d swirl the glass like I knew what I was doing, panicking about whether to say “smooth” or “bold” or just lie.

But here’s the thing about Chris—he never made me feel dumb. He didn’t care if I got the notes right or even knew what tannins were. What mattered was the curiosity, the willingness to dive in. He just wanted to share.

And that’s what wine is supposed to be. But too often, it’s not.

The wine world has built itself on a foundation of exclusivity. Fancy words. Fancy bottles. A language you’re supposed to learn before you’re allowed to enjoy it. But that’s not wine’s fault—that’s the industry’s fault. The truth is, wine is simple. It’s farmers growing grapes. It’s nature doing its thing. It’s a drink.

So why does it feel like a private club? Why does it scare so many people away?

That’s why we’re here. Bruno isn’t about wine as a status symbol or a secret code. It’s about wine for real life—for your kitchen table, for your Tuesday night, for the moments you can’t explain but still want to celebrate.

This is our start. A hello to anyone who’s ever felt lost staring at a wall of wine bottles. We’re here to make this easier, less intimidating, and way more fun.

So welcome to Bruno. Let’s open a bottle, break some rules, and figure this thing out together.

Cheers to what’s next,

Bruno
