Forget Napa Cab

A bold, powerful Cab from Napa's more elegant (and more affordable) sister region.
2020 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Taste: Mouth-filling and serious. The perfect love child of New World fruit and Old World technique.

🥩 Drink it with:
✔️ A steak (duh).
✔️ Or two steaks (because you deserve it).

❄️ How to Serve: Chill it in the fridge 30 minutes before serving for peak deliciousness.

🛑 After Opening: Stick the cork back in and keep it in the fridge for up to 5 days—but good luck making it last that long.

I bought this wine because it brings the spectacular power of a Napa wine at half the price, and with the elegance of Sonoma.

About the Wine

This wine was made by Matt Praetzel.

This is another wine from our alchemist, Matt, down in California, but this time with the GOAT Californian grape varietal.

We could just call it a “California Cabernet Sauvignon” and keep it simple, but naming specific areas is a big, albeit obnoxious, thing in wine. The thinking goes that if you’re being that specific, you’re signaling to people that you think you made something special from a special part of the world. We definitely think this has earned the right to obnoxiousness.

To that end: Alexander Valley is in Sonoma, and makes powerful wines which you should probably drink with food. This one really tastes like blueberry pie, but we recommend having it with hearty stuff in circumstances where some liquid patience might be desired.
